Northwestern University

Desiring to enhance my clinical skills as a speech-language pathologist, I pursued my Doctor of Speech-Language Pathology at Northwestern University beginning in June of 2018. The SLP-D program offered a variety of courses that helped me excel in business, leadership, operations and process improvement, policy, teaching, supervision, organizational behavior, and research. I am now equipped with skills to make a greater impact for my patients, colleagues, students, and the field of healthcare. Please see below for a sample collection of current research interests and projects completed during the program.

Improving efficiency of care for pediatrics with mild traumatic brain injury

I desire to improve patient outcomes through use of the methodologies of operations and process improvement as a catalyst for systematic change across healthcare through decreasing variability in care. I combined this new passion of operations and process improvement with my love for helping those who have sustained a mild traumatic injury. I created and implemented a quality improvement project that increases access to education in order to decrease variability in care between providers. Ultimately, I want to create a clinical care guideline for the speech-language pathologist for pediatrics with a mild traumatic brain injury.
